Makeover studios typically provide outfits, professional makeup and styling to help you achieve a particular look or transformation. They're ideal for those who want to look and feel different for the day.

Shaan Studio is a portrait photography studio. Rather than transforming you into someone else, my approach begins with understanding who you are and how you want to be remembered. We work with your own wardrobe, personality and expressions to create portraits that are authentic to you.

The difference is in the intention. A makeover is about experiencing a different version of yourself today. My portraits are about remembering who you are today, even decades from now. Neither is more superior than the other. It’s about what you want and need.

There is a session fee to reserve your booking, followed by the purchase of only the portraits you choose to keep. This gives you flexibility to decide how many images you want to purchase after seeing the images, rather than paying for a fixed package.

I recommend bringing a few sets of outfits that reflect how you want to be seen. This often includes two formal/corporate looks and two or more smart casual options. Neutral colours and simple clothing usually photograph best, but the right choice depends on your personality and intended use. We'll send you a more detailed Preparation Guide after booking.

I recommend setting aside the better part of your day for the experience.

The photography session typically takes around 3 hours. If you've arranged for professional hair and makeup, please allow an additional 1 hour before the shoot.

I don't work towards a fixed number of photographs or rush through outfit changes and poses. Each session develops at its own pace, and I want you to have the time to relax, explore different looks and enjoy the process.

Please avoid scheduling appointments immediately after your session. If you have a firm time constraint, consider another date where you’d have more flexibility or let us know before booking so we can advise whether the session would be suitable.

A headshot is a type of portrait, typically framed from the head to the shoulders or upper chest. It is usually created for a specific professional purpose, such as a LinkedIn profile, company directory or business website.

A portrait offers greater freedom in composition, from close-ups to full-body images, with more room to explore expression, personality and character.

At Shaan Studio, a full portrait session includes both professional headshots, lifestyle shots and more expressive portraits.

No. We do not release raw files as they are considered unfinished products.
